How about a 2econd look at The 5ifth Cycle?

After wallowing in the mire of an outdated look, The 5ifth Cycle’s website (at https://www.dlryder.com) has been given a long-deserved face lift.

Is this how the end begins?

The 5ifth Cycle is a gripping biotech thriller about a virus out of control and unleashed upon a tiny, isolated town.

When the virus escapes the confines of a remote bioengineering complex in Death Valley, the nearby town of Arroyo Caliente is quarantined with no warning, no explanation, and a rapidly-growing infected population.

With their town shut down and completely cut off, it is up to a select handful to escape the quarantine and – like rats in an experiment – venture back through the maze and infiltrate the source in order to save themselves.

The 5ifth Cycle is a complex, fast-moving thriller that turns the zombie plot on its ear by turning the improbable into the plausible. In the end, you’re left with the uncomfortable notion that it could happen.

New book, new blog

After years and years and YEARS of writing screenplays and the occasional short story, I finally decided that dialog and brevity  were not quite enough for me anymore.  So, after roughly a year and a lot of tweaking, rewriting, and editing, I’ve published my first novel, The 5ifth Cycle.  It’s available now on Amazon.com.

In honor of said novel, I started this website and blog, and I hope you will join me in what I hope will be a continuing journey – writing, talking about writing, design, publishing, marketing…  And other things, of course, since every time I see something shiny I’m distracted enough to comment on it.

I’ve started the process of writing my next novel, but for the moment, I’d like to bask in the finality of finally getting this first one up and on it’s big ol’ feet.

Thanks for visiting!
